Safeguarding

At Veterans With Dogs, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals we interact with, particularly Veterans who seek our support. We firmly believe that every adult has the right to live a life free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

The powerful impact of bringing dogs and Veterans together to address the symptoms of mental health conditions is at the core of our organisations' mission. As such, we are deeply committed to providing our services and support in a professional and safe manner. Safeguarding is a paramount aspect of our work, as it encompasses our responsibility to protect all Veterans from any form of abuse.

To fulfil our obligations effectively, we adopt a straightforward and transparent approach to safeguarding. This involves ensuring that all our staff and volunteers receive appropriate training to fully understand the concept of safeguarding and, most importantly, to know how to respond if they have any concerns related to safeguarding issues.

Safeguarding is an integral part of our organisational values and practices. We require the active participation of every individual involved with Veterans With Dogs in upholding our commitment to safeguarding those we serve. By doing so, we create an environment of safety, protection, and trust for everyone involved in our programmes and initiatives.
